GrandKid Central is primarily an informational, editorial, family-resource, product-recommendation, and affiliate-referral website. We do not directly manufacture, stock, fulfill, or ship the third-party products featured on the Site, and purchases made after following links from the Site are completed with independent third-party retailers.

By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires consent for a particular activity, we will request consent separately as required.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies to operate properly, remember preferences, maintain security, understand Site usage, analyze performance, and support other functions.

A cookie is a small data file that a website or related service may place on your browser or device.

Cookies used in connection with the Site may include the following categories:

Essential Cookies

These cookies may be necessary for basic Site operation, security, navigation, fraud prevention, or functionality.

Preference and Functionality Cookies

These technologies may remember choices or preferences and help improve the user experience.

Analytics Cookies

Analytics technologies may help us understand how visitors reach and use the Site, which pages are visited, how visitors navigate the Site, and how the Site performs.

Advertising or Marketing Technologies

If advertising, social-media, or marketing technologies are used on the Site, those technologies may collect information about Site activity in accordance with their respective privacy practices.

Affiliate Technologies

Affiliate links may contain identifiers or tracking parameters that enable participating retailers or affiliate networks to determine that a visitor or qualifying transaction originated through GrandKid Central.

You may be able to control or delete cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through privacy or cookie controls provided on the Site. Disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality.

Where applicable law requires GrandKid Central to recognize a legally valid browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), we will process such signals as required by applicable law.

6. Analytics and Other Service Providers

We may use third-party companies and service providers to assist with functions such as:

  • Website hosting;

  • Website operation and maintenance;

  • Analytics and traffic measurement;

  • Cybersecurity and fraud prevention;

  • Email or communication services;

  • Data storage;

7. Affiliate Partners and Third-Party Retailers

GrandKid Central participates in affiliate marketing programs and may earn compensation when visitors use qualifying links or make qualifying purchases from participating third-party retailers.

These relationships may include Amazon, Walmart, and other affiliate networks, merchants, or retailers.

When you click a third-party or affiliate link, you leave GrandKid Central's Site and become subject to the terms, privacy policies, cookie practices, and other policies of the third party.

Third-party retailers and affiliate partners may independently collect information concerning your visit, device, purchases, or interaction with their services. GrandKid Central does not control the privacy practices of those independent third parties.

We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party website before providing personal information or completing a transaction.

8. How We May Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

We may disclose information to vendors or service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as website hosting, analytics, security, communications, technical support, or data storage.

If GrandKid Central is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, transfer of business operations, dissolution, or similar transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or when you provide consent where consent is required.

9. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

GrandKid Central does not sell personal information to third parties in exchange for monetary payment.

Some state privacy laws define terms such as “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” more broadly than an ordinary sale for money. Under those definitions, certain uses of third-party advertising, analytics, social-media, or similar technologies may constitute a sale, sharing, or processing for targeted advertising even when no money is exchanged for the personal information.

If and to the extent GrandKid Central engages in activity that qualifies as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under an applicable privacy law, eligible consumers may exercise the applicable right to opt out.

Where legally required, GrandKid Central will provide an appropriate mechanism for exercising such rights and will honor qualifying opt-out preference signals as required by applicable law.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children under 16 years of age.

10. Sensitive Personal Information

GrandKid Central does not intentionally request sensitive personal information through the Site for the purpose of inferring characteristics about visitors.

We ask that you avoid submitting highly sensitive information through general contact forms or ordinary email.

If sensitive personal information is voluntarily provided in a communication with us, we will use it only as reasonably necessary to respond to the communication, protect our legal interests, comply with applicable law, or for another purpose disclosed to you.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, taking into consideration the nature and sensitivity of the information, applicable legal obligations, security requirements, and legitimate business needs.

Retention may vary by category. For example:

  • Contact-form messages and correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries, maintain business records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal requirements;

  • Email-subscription information may be retained while you remain subscribed and, where necessary, afterward to maintain records of an unsubscribe request;

  • Website security and technical information may be retained for a reasonable period necessary for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and Site operation;

  • Analytics information may be retained according to our configuration and the applicable provider's retention settings; and

  • Affiliate reporting and business records may be retained as reasonably necessary for accounting, tax, auditing, contractual, and legal purposes.

When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete it, anonymize it, aggregate it, or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with applicable law and our reasonable business practices.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no Internet transmission, electronic storage system, website, email system, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You should therefore use care when transmitting personal or sensitive information electronically.

13. Your Privacy Choices

Email Communications

If you receive promotional or newsletter communications from us, you may unsubscribe by using the unsubscribe instructions included in the communication or by contacting us. We may still send non-promotional communications when reasonably necessary to respond to a request, administer a relationship, or comply with law.

Cookies

You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings and through any cookie or privacy controls made available on the Site.

Affiliate Links

You are not required to use affiliate links. You may visit a retailer independently if you prefer.

14. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you reside and subject to applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information.

These rights may include the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process personal information about you;

  • Access or obtain a copy of certain personal information;

  • Correct inaccurate personal information;

  • Request deletion of certain personal information;

  • Obtain certain information in a portable format;

  • Opt out of the sale of personal information;

  • Opt out of the sharing of personal information for certain advertising purposes;

  • Opt out of processing for targeted advertising;

  • Opt out of certain profiling or automated decision-making activities where applicable;

  • Limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information where applicable;

  • Appeal a denial of a privacy request where applicable; and

  • Exercise applicable privacy rights without unlawful discrimination or retaliation.

Privacy laws vary by state, and many state privacy statutes apply only to businesses meeting specified statutory thresholds. Nothing in this section is intended to state that a particular privacy law applies to GrandKid Central where its statutory requirements or thresholds are not met.

Nevertheless, we will consider and respond to privacy requests in good faith and comply with applicable law.

Submitting a Privacy Request

To submit a privacy-related request, you may:

Please identify your request as a Privacy Request and provide sufficient information for us to understand and respond to it.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will request only information reasonably necessary for verification.

Where permitted by applicable law, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf. We may require reasonable evidence that the agent has authority to act for you.

If we deny a request, we will provide an explanation where required by law and provide information concerning any available appeal process.

15. California Privacy Notice

This section applies to California residents to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (“CCPA”), applies to GrandKid Central or otherwise requires the disclosures described below.

During the preceding 12 months, depending on visitor interaction with the Site, the categories of personal information GrandKid Central may have collected include:

  • Identifiers, such as name, email address, IP address, or online identifiers;

  • Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as Site navigation and interaction information;

  • Commercial or affiliate interaction information, such as affiliate referral activity or qualifying transaction information made available by affiliate partners;

  • General location information inferred from an IP address; and

  • Communications or other information voluntarily submitted to us.

Sources may include:

  • Visitors directly;

  • Visitors' browsers and devices;

  • Website technologies and service providers;

  • Analytics or security providers; and

  • Affiliate networks and participating retailers.

We may collect and use these categories for the business purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operating and securing the Site, responding to communications, measuring Site performance, improving our content, administering affiliate relationships, maintaining records, preventing fraud, and complying with law.

We may disclose applicable categories of personal information for business purposes to service providers, contractors, affiliate partners, analytics providers, security providers, legal authorities, and other parties described in this Privacy Policy.

GrandKid Central does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

If the use of third-party technologies constitutes “selling” or “sharing” personal information under California law, eligible California residents may exercise the applicable opt-out right through any privacy-choice mechanism made available on the Site or by contacting us using the methods stated in this Privacy Policy.

California residents may also have rights, subject to applicable law and exceptions, to request access, correction, deletion, information concerning collection and disclosure practices, and limitations on certain uses of sensitive personal information, and to exercise their rights without unlawful discrimination.

GrandKid Central does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

16. Children's Privacy

GrandKid Central provides resources, ideas, recommendations, and information concerning grandchildren and families, but the Site is intended for adults, including grandparents, parents, guardians, and caregivers.

The Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13.

Children under 13 should not submit personal information through the Site.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child under 13 has submitted personal information to GrandKid Central, please contact us. If we determine that we have knowingly collected personal information from a child under 13 in a manner subject to applicable children's privacy law, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information or otherwise address it as required by law.

17. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Site may contain links to Amazon, Walmart, social-media platforms, advertisers, informational resources, and other third-party websites or services.

GrandKid Central does not control and is not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or data practices of independent third parties.

When you leave GrandKidCentral.com, your interaction with the destination website is governed by that third party's privacy policy and terms.

We encourage you to review those policies before submitting personal information or completing a transaction.

18. Social Media

GrandKid Central may maintain pages, accounts, or profiles on third-party social-media platforms.

If you interact with us through a social-media service, the platform may collect and process information about that interaction under its own privacy policy.

Information you intentionally make public through social media may be visible to other users. Please use appropriate caution when posting personal information publicly.

19. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Some Internet browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there has historically not been a uniform industry standard governing all Do Not Track signals, the Site may not respond to every such signal.

This is separate from legally recognized opt-out preference signals.

Where applicable law requires us to recognize an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will process qualifying signals as required by applicable law.

20. International Visitors

GrandKid Central is based in the United States, and the Site is primarily intended for a U.S. audience.

If you access the Site from outside the United States, information you provide or that is collected through your use of the Site may be processed or stored in the United States or other locations in which our service providers operate.

Privacy and data-protection laws in those jurisdictions may differ from those in your country of residence.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our business, Site functionality, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.

If required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially different uses of personal information become effective.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
